We needed a break....

This week was the usual running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. I did ok...at least that what I like to think.... I am trying to stay on top of my homework as best as possible. It always seems like there's more and more everytime I turn around!

This past weekend was another busy one. I went over to mom's on Saturday and we helped Matt move his stuff out of the old apartment and rented a storage unit. That was eventful! LOL We had a good time. We had lunch together and chit chatted. It was nice to catch up with those two. I really know how much I love my family when we can sit and conversate and have a good time without even trying!

I then grabbed David and we went to dinner at Applebee's on Saturday night. We also ran some errands at Target and the grocery store... The next morning, David, Danny and I loaded my car full of snowboarding gear and headed for Big Bear in the San Bernadino Mountains!!! The drive up was nice, but once we got on the mountain it was quite foggy and a little nerve racking for me. I hate fog! Once we made it up to the top, we headed for Motel 6 where we made reservations for the night. We dropped our stuff off in the room, put on our snowboarding clothes and headed for the slopes!!! David was extremely excited. He's been waiting all season to go with someone and now he was finally there. He's REALLY good at snowboarding. He spent the last thee years going up to Big Bear with his best friend, Kevin, and speding weekends at a time snowboarding.

This was Danny's first time snowboarding, so David gave him a run down of what to do once he was on the board and in the snow. David was nice enough to go on a couple of runs down the slopes with Danny and I until Danny felt comfortable enough to make it on his own. He was a little frustrated at first, but by the end of the day, Danny was doing tricks on a thing called a box. David was very impressed! : ) It even started to snow and rain after about an hour of us arriving. We were all exhausted and sore by about 1:30 pm, so we headed back to the motel for a nap. We got back up again and decided to explore Big Bear. We went over to the lake and took some pictures - it was freezing out there! We decided to go back to the Motel and watch some T.V. and hang out for a bit. Then we decided on a place for dinner. It was awesome food, but the service wasn't so nice... Oh well.

The next moring we packed up our stuff, dropped our room keys off at the fron desk and headed back to the slopes one more time. We snowboarded for about 4 hours, then decided to start heading home. We first stopped off at McDonald's for lunch! We dropped David off, battle through 5 o'clock traffic, and finally made it home. We unloaded all of our stuff, took quick showers, and jumped in our pj's. All in all, we had a great time, and it was a nice break for a weekend. I hope we get to do it again before this season is over...

Last night Danny and I decided to celebrate Valentine's Day, since he will be working tonight and I will be at school, we won't get to see each other today. We had dinner at the Karl Strauss Restaurant and Brewery. I had the Ginger Salmon and Danny had the Porthouse steak. Both were delicious! We even discussed having our rehearsal dinner there... Danny gave me a box with massage oil, bath gel, and lotion from Bath and Body Works. It smells awesome! I got him his box of gormet chocolate covered strawberries like the one's I got him last year. He liked them so much, I thought it would be easy.... I think I'll have to do something different next year though!

Well, I think that's enough of an update for now! Above are some pictures we took at Big Bear...

Take care all and Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

What fun! I'm not brave enough to slide down a mountain on a stick, but it really does look like a blast!
